Today, the REPA-School is home to around 100 young monks aged between 6 and 14. All of the children and young people come from families who who cannot afford regular and higher education for their children. The vision is to support underprivileged children deprived of education.
Thus, the Repa-School as a Living and Learning Project is an ideal project to continue assisting children in Nepal.
At the REPA-School, the monks enjoy a well-structured daily routine that includes study, leisure, sport and fun. The education is demanding. The lessons cover both secular and Buddhist subjects. Great importance is attached to holistic education, so that in addition to ‘normal’ education, artistic and creative skills and knowledge are also taught. For example, pupils receive drama lessons from qualified teachers.
The sponsorship contributions are intended to cover the costs of accommodation, food, clothing, school supplies and medical care. The funds are to be used collectively at the school. In this way, we want to avoid a situation where a young boy without financial support is disadvantaged compared to the other pupils. The sponsored amount will be forwarded in full to the school and used there for the purposes described.
